Editorial Review
You could spend your whole day in Ducks Nuts without getting bored simply by dividing your time among the various sections of the venue. Start with breakfast in the adjoining Bar Espresso, a modern, brightly coloured coffee shop with bright white tiles and smart black tables and chairs, and pour over the newspapers provided while feasting on breakfast favourites. For lunch, dine out on the raised balcony which runs along the front of the restaurant and provides a shady refuge from the sun’s laser-like rays. The Ducks Nuts Caesar salad is a welcome departure from the standard version, comprising shredded duck with cos lettuce, crispy prosciutto, pistachio nuts, parmesan cheese and garlic croutons.
Never a dull moment, Ducks Nuts has something happening nearly every night of the week from the Quackers Quiz on Wednesdays, DJs on Thursdays, live cover bands on Fridays and Saturdays to the gentle tunes of live acoustic performances on Sundays. Soak up the sounds in the main dining room while choosing from the varied menu, which lists lamb kofta, san choi bau, and duck curry alongside steaks, burgers and fish’n’chips. When you’ve had your fill, dance the night away in the air-conditioned comfort of Tzars Vodka Lounge (which is also available for private functions) where you’ll find 40 different flavours of vodka including redskin, chico baby, red frog, and lychee.

David: This place really is the Duck's Nuts, or the Bee's Knees! On a recent trip to Darwin I was lucky enough to drop in for a cheeky cold one. The atmosphere is great. (06 December 2007)
